Ride for Refugees rider Nate Tofteland

Nate Tofteland

I’m Nate Tofteland, a proud father of three incredible children. For nearly 22 years, I’ve been blessed to be married to my amazing wife, Angela, a middle school math teacher at Trinity Academy and volunteer extraordinaire. We’ve been part of Hope for nearly 10 years and deeply value this community of people seeking to know, love, and be Jesus in our individual lives and our broader communities.

Professionally, I work as a digestive disease doctor, committed to providing care and support to my patients, as well as helping to train the next generation of physicians.

Inspired by my kids’ efforts in distance running training, two years ago I took up the challenge of marathon training after a nine-year break, running the Wichita marathon the past two Octobers. This spring, I look forward to shifting my distance training to cycling and embarking on a different kind of journey, Ride4Refugees. While I have been cycling off and on since 2009, I’ve never attempted any cross-country rides. I can’t think of a better “first” cross-country ride, raising awareness and support for those who have endured tremendous loss and hardship.

I’m grateful for the many people who have helped create and organize this incredible event, as well as my family and co-workers who have allowed me to participate. Our team appreciates any support you can provide!
